Budget:
$2500-$3000 Expectations: Smooth transitioning between gaming & working with 3d rendering & IRay(Daz 3D at this point). Nothing AutoCAD or anything requiring a Quadro graphics card. Usage: Gaming(World of Tanks & maybe a few older MMORPGs). Daz 3D rendering(setting up scenes & characters for screenshots) and maybe iClone7 much later on down the road if I decide to get into animation. Working on multiple/large various UV maps. At this point, I'm still trying to figure out the various controls and how not to screw up the windows. I almost lost my smart content menu and spent about an hour trying to get it back, lol. Special Needs: One of the things I was disappointed with in Daz 3D Studio is the rendering display area. This is due to running it on a 17" laptop with a 1080p screen. I may need to up my game a little more in order to achieve the high-res screenshots. Originally I was looking at going with a 1440p TN panel for gaming, but since I started working in Daz 3D, I'm thinking of making the jump to 4k res. The problem is I'm not sure how much this is going to screw up my gaming being locked in at 60Hz or lower refresh rates. Briefly looking at the available 4k monitors from, as an example, Dell, they have a 28" TN panel("no portrait mode" won't work for me) and a 27" IPS panel with DP & mDP ver. 1.2 and HDMI ver. 2.0 for connectivity, but "no daisy chain available" for multi-display won't work either if I ever want to add another monitor later on. So this is where I'm stuck at this point. An ultra-wide would be another possible option, but I don't recall if you're able to use them in portrait mode or not, especially if the stand isn't built for it. Most of them nowadays seem to be curved, which would not be ideal for portrait use. Saved Ticket #: I already have a Slade system in mind, but still unsure of which graphics card to get: -Intel Core i7-8700K (6-Core) 3.70GHz -ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING (Wi-Fi) (Intel Z370 Chipset) (Up to 3x PCI-E Devices) -16GB DDR4 3000MHz Digital Storm Performance Series -750W Corsair RM750x (Fully Modular) -DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x) (Internal) -1x SSD M.2 (1TB Samsung 970 EVO) (NVM Express) -1x Storage (2TB Western Digital - Black Edition) -1x GeForce GTX 1080 8GB (Performance Edition) (VR Ready)??? -H20: Stage 2: Digital Storm Vortex 240mm Liquid CPU Cooler (Fully Sealed + No Maintenance) -Standard Factory Chassis Fans -Stage 1: Overclock CPU - Up to 4.7GHz on All CPU Cores -Microsoft Windows 10 Professional (64-Bit Edition) Full Config: https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=2056849 |
