Just ordered my system, thanks to the help of DST4ME and others! I am ery anxious to be a part f the DigitalStorm community, and very proud of the purchase I have made. Already scoping out the next 3gb of ram to go in it. :) I am hoping that the package will arrive just a few days before it's time for me to get home.
A coupl of quick questions though.
1) The lights have their own switch, correct? So it would be possible to turn off the cathode, and have only that front LED going?
and
2)I went with the 500gb hdd vs the 1tb hdd based on some assertions on the forums of slow seek times and such with the larger drives. I'm not looking for say, raptor performance, but would it be horribly slow/annoying to add in 1tb+ drives as storage drives?
Thanks again for the help!

yes you can turn off the cathode, the led would be the fan's.
the 1TB drive just takes longer to scan and such, If you don't plan on upgrading your HDD1 then a 1TB for HDD2 is fine, just remember if you need to scan or back it up after its 60 - 70% full, it will take a while. not sure if you realized but your liquid is green and your lighting is red. congrats on the build you will love it, make sure your upgrade ram has the same timing as Mushkin

Build entered stage 5 this morning. I'm honestly suprised at how fast the updates come(though I guess stage 5 is the brick wall that tends to slow it down). My experience with a certain "other" builder *cough*alienware*cough* a few years ago was the exact opposite. They had it for a month without any updates, and then shipped it to the wrong address(I would probably blame the ethnic tendencies of their customer service at the time...) twice. It took two months after the build was complete for it to arrive. On top of all that, they had neglected to apply thermal paste, and changed their dead pixel policy during the long and drawn out customer service process. I can't wait to see this thing! |

Got my stage 7 email today. I was kind of hyped to get a higher OC like I've seen on others, but ~800mhz is pretty nice. I'm so excited. Can't get out of this country soon enough!
