Topic: System restarts randomly on idlePosted: 26 Nov 2011 at 2:06am |

I currently have a problem with randomly restarts and rollback with my system. At first I thought it was a problem with OC because it happened when I went idle after playing games. Now it happens more frequently whenever I leave it on idle even when all I did earlier was just surfing webs.
So I check the event viewer -> windows logs -> application: I get this error everytime my computer mysteriously restarts:
Is that the root of my problem ? Is there any way to fix it? Please help, thank you! |

check out your dump folder and see if you have a dump file, if yes upload it and let me look at it.
have you tried disabling your oc to see if that stops it from happening? tho this sounds like an os issue. give us some specs of system and os please. Edited by DST4ME - 26 Nov 2011 at 2:44am |

I have an ODE lv3.
And where do I upload those files to? I have two: "java.exe.3300.dmp" and "java.exe.1828.dmp". I don't know how to disable/enable OC either. |

So you have win7?
those are not dump file we are looking for, look at C:\Windows\Minidump, in that folder should be your system dump files, those are java dump files for java app, not the os. disable oc by setting bios to default, but I think this is an os issue. |

I can't find that folder even when I turned on "Show hidden files". I use cleaner programs like CCleaner very often, so it's probably deleted when I run the cleaner.

do you have your pc setup to make dump files?
how about C:\Windows\ here look for a file called "memory.dmp" try and see if this fixes your issue: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2545227 Edited by DST4ME - 29 Nov 2011 at 1:14am |

I don't have that file either. I just tried that fix you suggested so I'm gonna need a few days to see if it's fixed.
I just found out that I'm not supposed to defrag my SSD drive. That probably messed it up a bit too. |

Oh no, thats really bad to defrag ssd, but that error I don't believe has to do with ssd.

Hello,
Computer randomly restarts is not something unique happened to you. Sometimes there is a dreadful total crash of the system and sometime it sends different errors, upon restarting nothing happens. -- First of all disable the auto-restart option from your control panel settings -- Remove any recently installed maliciously software/add-on or any other application or toolbar. -- Try to cool down your PC as the overheating due to overuse of computer may result in system freezing and sudden restarting. -- Update the drivers -- Make it sure the error is not caused by the deficient power supply. You may try to change the power supply. -- Conduct the registry clean up scan for quick fix of the problem. -- Remove flashy games and/or untrusted antiviruses/antispywares. Conduct the security scan through the most powerful scanners only. If you have already been experiencing the computer automatic restart and shutdown problem then read this article ezinearticles.com/?Computer-Randomly-Restarts!-How-to-Fix-a-Computer-That-Restarts-Randomly&id=4247551 Hope it solves your problem. |
