Ok seeing all the good bits about i7 965 and so on. Guess it's time to do a re-scramble of blue prints lol. Course again I haven't reaped the funds to purchase as such, but by the time I do (End of December or Janurary thankfully.) this'll probably become applicable lol.
Chassis: HAF 932 PSU: 1200W PC Power and Cooling (ESA Edition) Processor: Nehalem Core i7 965 Motherboard: Asus X58 Rampage 2 Extreme System Memory: 6 GB OCZ DDR3 2000 Mhz Hard Drive 1: Intel SSDs (thankfully 250+ gbs are out by the time I start ordering) Hard Drive 2: 1 TB Western Digital Drive. Optical Drive: Blu-Ray Writer/Reader. Internet Access: Big Foot Killer Network Card (no buts on this one I know there's a whole lotta issues to this, but can't hurt to have it =P ) (now here's where I start getting specific lol) Video Card(s): 3x SLI Triple (GeForce GTX 280) "XFX -XXX Edition-" Sound Card: Xonar D2X External Cooling: Liquid Chilled Frostbite Dual Loop System for CPU & Triple SLI. * Koolance Waterblocks for GTX 280 If these aren't used. A whole lotta hardware aren't gonna fit no thanks to the GPUs lol. And Kelly gave a thumbs up to these ones anyway. * CPU Blocks.... no clue... Not gonna put too much detail into this for the i7 for now. Then again they seem to have "conversion kits" for LGA 775 blocks though. Anyways for the LGA 775 at the time I was going for the Apogee GTZ. * Radiators... Hardware Labs Black Ice GT Xtreme: As many as needed. Maybe one 3 x 120 for the ceiling on the HAF.... assuming it can fit. Anyone at DS ever able to confirm if a 3 x 120 radiator can fit in the ceiling? Whichever the case, at the most a 3 x 120, and 1 x 120 radiator should do the trick. Modifications: ESA (maybe maybe not? this is prone to a decision yet.) And... NZXT SEN-001LX This just looks so cool to have as an add on to the front. Boosts: Boost to CPU, Memory and Windows. Windows OS: Dual Boot Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium for the SSD. XP 32-bit (Home or Media Center...) for the 1 TB HD. Protection: I'll stick to what DST4ME recommended with loooong discussions over about ahah. LCD Display: Acer G24 24" monitor. (Reviews said you can't go wrong with it so I'll stick with this one.) Surge Protector: No clue honestly... and rather than being a Surge Protector a UPS would be better anyway right? Well this one came to mind. Cyber Power Headphones: Astro Gaming Astro A40 Reviews speak it lol. Keyboard: Razer Lycosa Mirror Version. Mouse: No clue here... I thought Razer Lachesis was the sound ideal, but I think Ergonomics takes priority. I read some good things on the Steel Series. I must be the first human on this board to make such specific demands on each component bwahaah. |

How many as DS deems it. Heck I'll go as far as let them do some full load testings per added Rad to check temperatures, and feel free to add extra rads to the total purchase when temperatures are satisfactory
.Heck maybe for all I know maybe one 3 x 120 Radiator will do the trick? I wouldn't know lol. Not sure about reservoirs too but. Over at the IRC channel EK-RES seem to be popular when they mentioned it. |

Thanks to that custom computer that Alex showed, I figured out what radiator setup can be done.
Ceiling, bottom and either mounted outside or inside, where that back fan is located. (And I also wanna have those DSO custom grills on the fans too bwahaha.) |

OCZ doesn't offer a triple channel memory kit that runs @ 2000MHz. =\ Or are you planning on using the dual channel kit 2x2GB which is 2000MHz @ 1.9v.
Kingston is the only manufacturer to announce a triple channel kit @ 2000MHz 1.65v which is 3x1GB and costs ~$300... |

-face palms- Silly me, I should've read that clearly that that was dual channel not triple channel ahaha. Either way thanks for bringing that up and making me confirm myself. Still not ordering till later anyway, so it's bound to happen, if someone like Kingston actually pulled it off already. What happens anyway? Performance differs between using 3 rams from a dual channel set, compared to using a triple channel set? (Aside from the voltage.) |

LOL NICE! I wonder how much OCZ charges for that monster. -40 to -50 thats ridiculous, imagine what kind of Overclock DS could achieve with those temperatues <drools>.
If you're gonna go all out, get the most out of your money =). I can't wait to see pics when you get this thing.

Unfortunately turns out you gotta cover the mobo adding silicon and put these pad of sorts around the CPU to prevent condensation (And here I thought that would be dealt with ahaha). So upon finding out about that, I'll decide not too.
I'd like the motherboard to be clean too lol. But either way potentially risky. |

-bump-
Been gone for two days, cause I was addicted to playing Dead Space so much after getting that new card for this old comp. I must say.... I don't even know the total pricing for this ahaha. -grabs a calculator and starts jotting numbers- Still pure awesomeness, happy to find out the Configurations got Core i7 now in them! Eh really? From DS configurator I hit $9700+ (less than that if I don't include painting but it's STILL $9000+
I used other things like the Samsung Monitor as a "reference" just to give me a good idea. Then there's the whole custom request for different water blocks and such ahaha. Edited by Axel Daemon - 18 Nov 2008 at 4:30am |

Also do XFX XXX Edition cards run out after awhile? Or do they stick around? My XXX link is "Currently Unavailable"
Thankfully that doesn't secretly mean permanently discontinued lol. |

Checking from the XFX site.
There's Amazon.com still lol. I'm probably overreacting cause if you check newegg, they still sell XXX versions of other models, so it'd be odd for them to discontinue the GTX 280 one specifically. |
