Hello everyone,
My old Dell is practically smoldering as we speak and I'm ready for a new rig. DSO looks like the place to be. My budget is around 3K. While I know the basics of computers it's been awhile since I've had to shop for one, so I'm asking for your expertise. I have a Dell 30" and 24" LCD monitor. I primarily play MMOs, WoW and LOTRO currently, and WAR when it comes out. I don't really play FPS or RTS games. The only other thing is that I trade markets part-time and would like to run two monitors when I do. My trading software is not that much of a graphics hog as far as I know. Your sage advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Yeah DST4ME is the config to go with. Just get 4 years cuz you may never know.
Also World of Warcraft is not a bit graphic hogger since the graphics are way to cartony so you'll get BAD FPS on that game =P LOTR I think is a DX10 support game? So that config will take full capability of the DX10 =P WAR seems at the moment the best graphics game I've seen, so this set up should get you going with barely any crashes in WAR so leveling will be FANTASTIC FOR YOU! BTW I recommend before ordering talk to Eric at customer service so you can order 1 on 1 with him and get more professional advice. *EDIT* Just looked over the config and just some things I think need changing JUST A TAD BIT =P 1. Get the NVIDIA GeForce 9800GX2 1GB +$196 because it's better than the 260, also it gives better performance in some cases than the 280 GTX! 2. 150GB is small for me sometimes for MMOs(These days MMOs are growing in GB space! 30GB+ per game is being expected in the 2009 games!) so I would recommend getting the 300GB VelociRaptor! It's 10x better than the Raptor in Stability/Performance/Heat Reduction. Edited by Nickdapimp - 27 Aug 2008 at 9:27pm |
