I have a cooler master V8 and a GTX 285...my question is where is the best possible place to mount a temperature probe for the most accurate reading? I was wondering where DS mounts theirs, but suggestions are welcome. Almost done with the build, and hope to post some pics on mondayif all goes well.

Well, there are 4 probes, so I want the CPu monitored as well. No harm in constantly knowing your temps. Unfortunately, the processor is on its way ack to new egg as it arrived DOA. At least that is what EVGA thinks. After being ojn the phone with them for 30 minutes troubleshooting, the seem to believe that the CPU is faulty and not the board, of course. So, i play the waiting game. I am apt to believe it was the board, cause how rare is it the chip is faulty. I guess i will find out in a week or 2.

I know it wont be totally precise, but i think your missing my point. I WANT it there. I like gadgets an my computer. While its true its main function will be in controlling fan/noise levels, I like the gadgetry. I have one on my current comp and its only 3C off true bios readings. But its not nearly as large as the V8, which is why I was wanting to know how DS mounts theirs. Thats it. They offer it so was wanting to know how they do it.

Ah, there is the rub. These forums are mainly for us customers to hobknob amongst each other and members from DS occasionally poke there heads in here. If you want info from DS on how the Temp Probe is mounted, I would advise you call DS on Tuesday. Yes, they are open on Monday, but Monday is usually crazy busy from what I understand. |
