I've read alot of posts on here about temperatures and wanted to posts some that i have and i feel are pretty good with the OC that the system has,,, here is the System Specs:

Extreme Case
780i MB
Q6600 2.4 OC to 3.38 @ 1.512 v
2 GIG Dominator 800 MHz
8800 GTX Single GPU
X1 soundcard
620 PSU
320 GIG HD

I reset the CE1 in the BIOS so that its running full clock speed at idle..
here are the results at Idle.   I will report back with under load results later..

CORETEMP  reports:

CORE 0        42 c
CORE 1        37 c
CORE 2        38 c
CORE 3        39 c

CPUz reports:

CORE SPEED    3376.4
MULTIPLIER     9.0
BUS SPEED      375.1
RATED FSB       1500.3

NOTE:  I did check the temps from the BIOS
CPU shows a 45 c
BOARD shows 33 c
MPC  shows 68 c

If anything I think the MPC is alittle toasty!!  but I've read that its gets alittle warm anyway and its not out of the specs regarding the amount of heat it generates.  am i correct in this assumption ?

oh,, and another side note,, THIS THING KICKS A$$  Big%20smile  Thanks DS!!

Those are good temps for a vcore at 1.512.

Not sure what an MPC is...

Ya, what is MPC?

Anyway, mine, with no load are:

CORE 0        44 c
CORE 1        44 c
CORE 2        40 c
CORE 3        37 c

I can tell you when I start doing some hard core gaming (COD4 multi-player, max settings) I will hear the fans start cranking and then the liquid rushing around in there like the Colorado river and they still stay in the 55 -59 range with the occasional jump to the low 60's briefly and then back to the mid 50's.

This rig with the dual GPU's can puke out some serious heat, too.  My gaming room heats up like crazy when I start gaming.  Its great!
Extreme Case

780i Motherboard

2X SLI GTX 260, 896
Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer
Thermoelectric Liquid Chilled
Windows 7,64b

That "MCP" temp is pretty close to the temperatures I was seeing on the 680i before I replaced the thermal interface material under the SPP and MCP. I would expect things are not much different on the 780i.

The other temps look fine too, better than fine actually.

You can see a photo identifying the MCP If you look just over half way down in this thread.

I too was wondering about my MCP temp (which ranges between 55-58 degrees), so I was digging around yesterday.  Here is another thread where people discuss MCP temps, part way down the page.  I have no idea what the credentials of the posters are there, but in the two threads, I believe that 55 is called "quite good" and 70 is "high but not unusual."  Someone in one of the threads claims that the MCP has a tolerance of 100 degrees Celsius (not sure for how long though). Take that for what it is worth, I guess.

Yeah,  well, I think from what I read and thank you for those links about the MCP... I really dont think at this time i really need to do anything about the MCP temp,,  its within specs, so I will just keep an eye on it...

I did notice that my CPU core temps under load,, especially playing COD4,  fluctuates anywhere from mid 50 c to low 60 c..    very good that i can tell.. now  of course its winter still somewhat here in Illinois,, so, spring/summer... well,,,Confused  that my be a totaly diff thread than this..

anyway, have fun all..
