I am moving all my data to another drive. And then I'm going to completely nuke my C drive. What do I care about the user data there? Maybe my question wasn't clear.

No your question was not clear, so you are talking about moving your media/personal/work files to a different drive right? if yes then that is fine.

do that and then reinstall windows.

why did you delete you first post? now its even more confusing.

ok the image disk is there to set the pc back to the day you got it, if that is what you want then use the image disk, it should be bootable, how are you booting off of it?

as for reinstall, if you don't have an oem win7 dvd then you can't reinstall.
