Now this is a first PC that makes sense for a beginner. If you are in the mood to make a couple of changes, you have time, and DS will be pleased to help you get the build you want.
You will have a vastly better overall response every day with boot times and everything you do from your operating system if you can swing a change to a Samsung 500GB 980 PRO NVMe SSD for your primary drive. $106 ain't peanuts, but the change is worth it. The 980 is over 12 TIMES faster reading, and 9 TIMES faster writing data than the DS drive. That is something that will benefit you every time you use your new rig. The only other thing is that we don't recommend the overclock at all. The newer lines of CPUs have a feature they like to call "turbo" mode where the CPU will speed up all on its own for awhile if the workload (or game) calls for it. It can hit any speed from 3.6GHz up to 5.0GHz when needed, but at idle, it runs cooler at 3.6GHz. The OC won't kill the proc, but it isn't needed, and it will make your rig run hotter all the time. More heat is not good, and can shorten the life of electronic parts. Get in touch with DS sales by e-mail or phone. They will be happy to help you out if you want to follow my recommendations. |

I actually already have a 1tb evo 980 i was going to install once the pc arrived and the over clocking was a free upgrade only reason i got it! How ever you really think i should remove it?
This pc will be for gaming only and i play free world online games like dayz that request alot! Thank you for your feedback! |

I think Cretae is giving some good advice about not overclocking. It's really not necessary these days, and can actually degrade performance in some games.
I was purchasing a DS machine a couple of months ago, and wanted to overclock it. Then everybody here suggested that I don't. Based on that advice I did some online research. I found a few benchmarks that verified what they were telling me. Overclocking will make your PC run hotter, it'll make your fans run faster, your PC will make significantly more noise, the performance gains will hardly be noticeable, and in some cases it will lower performance. I was really shocked to see benchmarks in some games that showed a lower frame rate when overclocking. |

An over-all cooler system is the aim of the advice, and a very good thing for longevity. A gaming machine has no need to be running at 4.7GHz on all cores.

Almost there. Official word is that Fedex is running behind a little lately so a bit more patience may be required.

Well Cretae said that fedex is in a major back up so its prolly just taking awhile for them to catch up these computers are big and i dont imagine they can get very many at a time to shipp. As long as its in tip top shape when it arrives i can wait. Its what it looks like when it arrives is what im worried about…

Stage 6 is "Quality Assurance" not shipping. FedEx has nothing to do with that. 7 is packing. Seems like the first 5 stages went pretty quickly. 2 1/2 weeks in and stage 6 is still stalled. |

You misunderstand. The 2 1/2 weeks is for just ONE stage. Their 14 to 21 business days went out the window a while ago. It only took a few hours to charge my account when I placed the order. They weren't too busy for that. |

You kinda seem upset about this friend. We have all had that same wait time you can tell from my 1st post. I would Highly recommend contacting DS directly for peace of mind on any questions you have! Talking to them directly might make you feel more reassured on the process!

This will be my third system from Digital Storm. I have not experienced such foot dragging before. I have contacted them several times and get the same tired response about being backlogged and working seven days a week. My point is, if they couldn't deliver in a timely manner, they should not have taken the order.

@pcrannel, I'm sorry about the delay, I do see that it's been a few day over our estimation, I'm going to escalate the order and have it shipped within the next few days.

No worries im prolly just going to wait till the 2 months hits and if its not shipped buy then il prolly have to just do a return because theres no excuse for waiting 2 months to build a computer when all parts were in stock

As an Old School DS Gamer with a 12 year DS Beast I just ordered my latest & greatest the day before yesterday at least the best I can afford as a 69 tear old dude.
I told my wife to blame Cretae who recommended the system. It was good he gave me his phone number for her to call and have him explain why I spent my kid's inheritance. I am in Stage 1. Is that the best, meaning it is coming in the next few days? I thought not. But as much as my long dedication is valued by the good people of Digital Storm I wouldn't mind if they bypassed everybody else & just built mine next and sent it to me tomorrow by AIR as a tribute. |

I always give the kids a a break when they play with us Veterans! I wish I had my new system today. I would have stress tested your system till mine arrived if you would have sent it here. I would have made sure it was working proper before I sent it on to you. I actually had the change out the fan in the middle of my V8 Cool Master on top of the old OC i7 today on my old DS. That was a drag but I had a spare and the the old beast was 12 years old so I don't feel so bad. |
