I was just on newegg checking prices and here is my question. Why is the best i7 extreme still cheaper than the 9770 extreme that I have. Isnt the i7 suppose to be better than the 9770? Even the best i7 compatible mombo is cheaper than the 790 ultra that I have. I thought it would be the other way around. Does the best i7 with 3 GPUs beat the 9770 with 3 GPUs? Just curious

I remember a review by that website guru3d showing the 920 beating the qx9770 in all of the benches.

the 920 beats it in all but 3 things I think. the 965 would eat it I imagine.

technology my friend, better and cheaper to produce


however at the end of the day, the penryn chip is still very respectful, its not the top guy, yes but its far from the bottom guy or the regular guy

don't worry the i7 killer is coming soon enough.

my q9550 scores 45231 in vantage I beat some qx9770's because of my oc and some i7's all depends on how far you are willing to push your chip. But yes the i7 will beat my chip if its clocked at the same speed by 3-5000 points.  I mean look people on the forum with 965 are getting around 49500 cpu score
