i like the idea of a self contained unit untel i see how much work a WC system is i like the domino because it has everything in the little case but it looks small on a i7. so will a domino coll a stock i7 extream. and what OC can i get out of it. and is the V8 better?

From what I've heard, the V8 or the Noctua would be better.

When I ordered my build, I askes for the old Stage 2: Coolit Eliminator for my i7 920 OC. It wasn't enough. I got a phone call that said that it wasn't neccessarily failing in the QA process, but it wasn't keeping the temps low enough for confort. They had a solution though and I paid a bit more, I can't remeber now, and they got me the Eliminator's big brother. I beleive it's the Freezone Elite. It works B.E.A.Utifully. I leave it on the medium setting and the temps stay waaaaay low even during hours of game play. You can see the temps here: http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=6704
I too wanted a fully enclosed LC option that didn't require any maintenence. In the end it still cost as much as the Stage 3 LC option here at DSO, but I beleive it to be a superior system. But that's me. So if your budget is tight, stick with the V8. Edited by Hammer - 07 May 2009 at 7:57am |

If I understand the reviews I've read, the Noctua NH-U12P produces better cooling and is quieter than the V8.

Ya v8 and Noctua NH-U12P will produce the same temps pretty much, depending on your cpu ofcourse
either go air or go frostbite
