While, I'll offer a complete review later, I thought I'd share my thoughts on my new Enix a full 6 hours into use.
Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GHz Quad Core overclocked to 4.6GHz with Corsair H70 Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: ASUS P8P67-M PRO B3 Revision System Memory: 8GB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz Hard Drive 1: 300GB Intel 320 Series SSD Hard Drive 2: 1TB Western Digital Caviar (7200 RPM) Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 1.5GB Case: Silverstone Fortress FT-03 Power Supply: 1000W SliverStone Strider Gold Monitor 1: Dell U2311H UltraSharp 23" LCD Monitor 2: Acer P235H 23" LCD Initial Impressions 1) Bootup? Did it really boot because I was at my desktop before I knew it? 2) I'm a Civilization 5 player, and used to no animations / lowest quality graphics with turns that take centuries. With this beast I finally saw the opening movie for the first time, and even at the highest settings on the largest worlds with the most Civilizations and while streaming the Cards-Cubs game at the same time on the other monitor in 1080p, I couldn't make it lag whatsoever. Not only that, but I couldn't even it didn't even go up in temp. 3) The case... I worried a bit after seeing the beastly cases recommended here that I'd make a mistake going with the Enix/FT-03. I mean who wants to fit all that stuff into a tiny case? Well first off, its not tiny, just not the behemoths that seem to be prevalent in the enthusiast market. One look inside shows that yes it can be a bit of a tighter squeeze, but I'm very happy with the airflow, and this case is engineered so well it makes me very happy. 4) Probably the component that has made me the happiest is the SSD. For those of you using 7200 or 5400 RPM HDDs now, I can't begin to tell you how the SSD changes your computing experience except to say if it were much faster, I don't think I would be able to tell. Now I'll admit, I'm not a stat junkee, but dang that the whole pc just runs better off an ssd. Conclusion (for now) The Digital Storm Black Ops Enix that DS built for me redefines what I expect from a computer and, simply put, blows it away. Not to seem like the detail work and customer service aspects of working with DS aren't important, but at the moment, I can say that I've never been happier with an electronics product than I am with my new Enix (other than I feel a little perverse every time I type Enix). More / clearer pix to come and I'll give a full review within a couple weeks. |

Looks awesome. I honestly like the looks of that case. A BEAST (in a smaller package)!

Looks nice, very sleek compact machine! Did you request the red vent at the top to be painted black? Or did you choose an alternate case?

I did not put any custom paint options. Since this the way it comes from Silverstone (black) I'm guessing the red ones were either promo or custom. I'm actually happy as I'm not one for the flashiness on cases.

Thanks for sharing your new computer from DS. I can see problems with a monitor mounter one above the other. Looking up for a long period would have me with a knick in my neck. Absolutely no good for anyone who wears bifocals. Please let us know how you like the monitor setup after you have used it for a while. |

Nice system. It looks like your pc is going to fall off the table.

I agree with you on the neck thing. I got the monitor stand at a good price and didn't have room for side by sides. My plan is to put email, fb, twitter, whatever that I want to monitor but not read actively up top and whatever I'm working on or games I'm playing on bottom.
After I took the pic I had to double check to make sure the PC wasn't falling off. The tabletop is glass and you can see the edge about 5 inches over to the right. The black piece below is actually a hanging tray/shelf |

Awesome!
I'm not exactly sure why, but I really like the look of the Enix, especially with your setup!
After reading this, I had to re-read his post, at first I thought you somehow determined this just by looking at the picture |
