Ok so I finally found someplace that tested the systems at two different times but using the same exact set up here they are:
GTX 295 GTX 285 The tests show results to be very similar the tri 285s are 10-12fps better in some cases. Mostly it is very similar. They are tested as 2 x 295s 295 3 x 285s 2 x 285s 285 I hope this helps people choosing between the two as I went nuts. |

Why do they blame me for all their little failings? They use my name as if I spent my entire day sitting on their shoulders, forcing them to commit acts they would otherwise find repulsive - Lucifer

yes we had discussed this before, tri sli 285 beats quad 295 but the 285s cost more also, and they didn't run the tests in a highend enviroment either, I ratehr see it with a 965 and 1800MHz ram

wonder why they never test in 1280x1024
supposedly you can get really nice frames from dual sli with either card |

Well DST4ME I dont know from looking at both of them there are a few times that 2 x 295s beat the tri set up. But the cost is not justifiable. Other than that yes I would also like to see those high end systems with 965.

You are very correct Samael, but the tri 285 beats the quad 295 more times then it loses.
I however like the 295 myself and agree that the higher price of tri 285 is not worth the 10 to 20 fps gain, in an environment where you are already over 70 fps to begin with. |
