Digital Storm just posted this video on YouTube that includes a look at a machine that his been wrecked in shipping. It's a fun vid and has a lot of behind the scenes looks into DS... but the destroyed machine is just... well...

How bad can it get when the tech says we can't use the DRIVES because of glass shards? I understand the GPU because of the intake fans, but how much glass needs to be in there to foul the drives?

DS probably does not want any issues with that system and reinstalled hardware and even less for drives.

That damage really looks intentional.

Dang, that was brutal! From listening to the video it sounds like the box showed up to the customer with "two small holes" and they refused delivery (not blaming the customer, just referencing what was said in the video) then when it got back to DS it was ravaged like that. That might lead some credence to your thoughts hoserator.

It's also crazy to see how big DS's facility is these days. Strong

That struck me as well. I drove over to the old Fremont place when I picked a machine in '14 and it was relatively tiny... while this place looks spacious. Good for them. Sell a good product, treat your customers right, and you'll always need bigger spaces.

Yeah, it looks like it might have had some holes due to water damage and since it was refused someone up the chain made sure it showed. Lucky the buyer took images of the system he refused. I would have if it looked like that!! LOL

And yes, what a place.  With banners designating departments. Wow.Awesome
