So i accidently spilled coke on my mechanical keyboard, it still works but i messed up the space bar by yanking it too hard, one of the keys doesn't work and the shift key activates that key and the key would be this ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; and i can only stop it by pressing another key. I guess i will have to get another keyboard, such a shame because i love this keyboard. Darn my clumsiness.

That does sound sucky.  Cry    I've never had a mechanical keyboard , but just off the top of my head, I'd get some electronics cleaner spray and pull the keys in the area and try to spray underneath, disconnected of course.  This assumes they're not broken at the solder joint to the board.  Let it dry for a few minutes and try it.

Coke is the worst.  Sticky, sugary and dries leaving a heavy residue.  The cleaner might do it, nothing to lose.  Big%20Smile

The benefit of the electronics cleaner is that it will dissolve the crap left behind if it can get at it.   Spray, let it sit for a couple of minutes, turn it upside down and shake it good.  If its not broken.  Hahaha

I've used it on tuners, motors, the old mechanical relays and switches, etc and sometimes it works and sometimes, not so much.

Sometimes better to replace it.  Depends.

Electronics cleaner is indeed good to have around. I've used CRC for many a moon!

I know yours seems to be related to the mechanical issue of pulling out the keys, but one thing I've done with really dirty/soiled keyboards in the past, you can submerge the entire keyboard in a mixture of 1 part rubbing alcohol (80%+ is ideal) and 1 part water. Let it sit in the solution and then scrub around the key switches/connections as best you can. Then let the keyboard dry for several days.

That might sound bat-poop crazy but it has fixed every spilled-liquid keyboard problem I have ever worked on, from laptop keyboards to gaming keyboards. Hahaha

You can do the same thing to fix a lot of clicking issues on mice, its crazy how many problems the ole' skin cells can cause inside of those switches. LOL

I have never tried the submerge-the-keyboard fix.   Gotta dig out an old keyboard and give it a go.

One of my first keyboards was sticking so bad that I actually took it apart and let the keyboard "top" run through the dishwasher... twice.  The membrane between the keyboard and the electronics was cleaned by hand with rubbing alcohol and lint free cloth... but the keys, lol, they got soaked. (And then dried in the sun for a couple of days.)

That keyboard lasted another 2 years, until my dog ate the D and R keys.  (Don't ask.)
