This user forum is great. Many companies are too afraid of what their customer's might say about them to allow customers to talk to each other.

In past month and a half, only about 200 people have registered here. There have been many more new DSO customers, in that time. I'm surprised that people who buy computers like the ones DSO builds, but aren't interested/excited enough join in the conversation here. Well, there are almost 200 anonymous posts. I guess some people just don't like to sign up for anything on the web.

If you don't count the moderators, only 50 people have left 10 or more messages in the last 45+ days.

This message has no point except that I'm killing time while suck in Stage 2.  Even I'm getting bord reading it....

I'll be honest, I lurked on the site for about 2 or 3 weeks before registering.   I was overly sensative about sounding like a noob.   But the people here are really cool and have great advise.

..this forum is what gave me the confidence to join in buying a great computer ,without knowing a whole bunch about the hardware or the process...the interactions between folks like Hoss and skyR  and Alex really helped me settle down with confidence and send a small wheel barrow of money to people I have never met...and I'm still happy about it...Doug

AngryAnd another thing....

I'm surprised that there aren't loads of DSO customer testimonials for the month of September over at resellerratings.com. DSO has gotten just one review in September and only six for all of July! By the way, way to go denslayer, FYB, Bushy,  Chewbacca_69, Headrush, LMBTE,  SeriousSam,  and Crulend.Thumbs%20Up  But how about a couple dozen more people taking the time.... You don't have to write a book; just a couple lines and a rating.

After DSO builds you a great system, the least you could to take the time to give them a public pat on the back.

It could be my ignorance talking here, but maybe throw a link on the front page asking for a quick testimonial if you're happy.  It's the least a buyer could do for the awsome service and product they receive.

As far as people that don't post because they're intimidated, or whatever the reason, DS has a menu select style of "Build Your own" systems that many people are talking about on these forums that really does keep you in a repetitive type of conversation.  You build yours, virtually, and then talk about it more and more on the forums while other members (buyers) post about their experiences and you become more and more familiar with the process, hardware and customer service adventure.

It's basically Rote and the more you read and participate in the process (relationships), the more you become familiar with the equipment and the way things work.   This  community here is quite amazing as in you don't have people bashing and bitching about things.  The more things happen as it relates to others experiences, the more  those who have been through the experience reach out to others too see them through their journey.  Very impressive!

All of this camaraderie is a culmination of the efforts that DS puts into their business.  No doubt the hard work that goes into making sure everyone is handled properly, and the mere fact that they shoot straight and honestly, is the reason why everyone seems to gravitate toward helping one another.   DS creates an environment that is conducive to  success.  There are many large companies that haven't gotten it yet that could learn from this style of management.

Keep it up, DS!

all i know is that if someone like cyberpower put up a forum they would be knee deep in complaints.  For me, money wasn't really that much of a factor but the fact that DS seems so on top of their stuff and care about their customers was my deciding factor.

My comp has been in stage 1 for a week now so hopefully it'll be moving soon Smile

nomec, Alex told me they had to restart on your computer. They said It'll be around 4 to 5 weeks before it gets out of stage 1 now.

Just kidding bro!  Thumbs%20Up

Stage 3 since friday and I guess about - T minus 36 hours and counting till my computer gets here.  Getting ready for work this morning and stopping by to drop a line.  Checking ups site for where my 'puter is.  It went from DS, too Dallas, to SC.  Hmmm, it will need to come back west about 500 miles if it does goes to SC.  What in the world?  Why go there then have to come back west?

Oh well, it's due here Wednesday.  I feel like a 10 yr old on Christmas eve again!Wink

Got the desk, book shelfs, work area all set up ready to go!Clap
Been checking out the new monitor till then.  It's sweet!Big%20smile

Yeah, I purchased a new monitor in anticipation too. Went from a 17" CRT to a 20" LCD. I had it sitting in the box for a day, thinking it would be pointless to hook it up to my old rig. But I did, and it's freaking beautiful.

It says I'm still in Stage Two, and today marks the 3rd of the 3-5 business days for estimated shipping. So I suppose there's still a chance my rig could ship today, but I'm thinking it will ship tomorrow, or Thursday.

Here's to hoping. :D

To add insult to injury, on my slowly dying p4 (need to replace the HD, which is my excuse for getting the DS system), my monitor just went out.

As soon as my other Circuit City gift card arrives in the mail - earned via credit card points - I'll be getting a 19" LG monitor.

It's getting harder and harder to find non-widescreen models.  Out of their entire wall display, they only had 3 or 4 non-wide screens that were larger than 17".
