Getout & Drakul,
I hope you have patience...I ordered mine on 1/4/08 and it is still in stage 1.  The wait for me (and a few others) was due to the build with the 780i board.   They did not have any in stock for awhile.  According to Alex, they got the boards in last Friday...but I am still in stage one...sighErmm  I see you system is built on the 680i, so hopefully it should not be an issue with you.

Please make sure you communicate with the DS Team.  I never received a call that it was backordered.  It wasn't until last week when I called them that I found out.  Apparently they have had problems with their network/communication system with the move.

I have a 780i board, and orderd on 12/31, and I'm still in Stage 1 as well.  To hold me over, I went out and got a new 24 inch monitor.  Of course, now I realize just how badly I need my new machine.  Tongue

Venture,
That's funny...I did the same thing!!  I ended up getting the Gateway 24" FHD 2400.  Sure puts my old 19" CRT Sony to shame.  Back in its day...the 19" Sony was the monitor to get and actually still is a very good monitor, but can't compare to the new one.

If I have to wait much longer, I am not sure what I'll bring home nextConfused

Be patient.   Try to remember these are custom built rigs, unlike some joint like Dell that is slapping together bulk components into basic set ups.  For that reason, there are parts shortages on high end stuff, some parts are defective and other variables pop up.

Mine took a little over a month from date of order until it showed up at my front door. I was about to go jump off a bridge from frustration.

But, tt is a monster rig and I have nothing but good things to say about it. It preforms like no system I have ever seen before.

If you do encounter any troubles or concerns, call or private message Alex directly.  He will always give you the true answers and work with you to get your rig into your hands!

Congrats on you order!

I ordered my computer on 12/12/2007 and it was just shipped yesterday on 01/22/2008.  However, there was probably an extended delay b/c of the holidays and maybe a day or 2 b/c of their facility move.

Even so, i'm kind of curious as to how many others report problems related to bad hardware and failed tests as a reason to why their system has been delayed.  Everytime I called my computer had failed numerous tests (bad video cards, hard drives, motherboards, and problems with overclocking) even after being "moved to the front of the line" back on 12/19/2007.

I would expect to wait at least three weeks to a month... however, since i'm not knowledgable of all DS processess and workload, thats a pretty big guess.  Good luck!!

Ordered mine on 12/11/07 and it still has not shipped. Back orders and failures keep it delayed, and I thought I might get it before the new year.LOL

One thing I noticed is that the two builds mentioned just above, both had liquid cooling.  I'm assuming that can slow things down on build time?  In my dream world, there'd be a website where we could monitor where our builds are in the line so we'd know how close we were to getting ours built.  I know, I know, never gonna happen, for good reason (too many ruffled feathers when people see someone bumping ahead of them for one reason or another), and it would serve no purpose.  But monitoring my shipment at every step of thy way as it gets hauled across country serves no purpose either, but anticipation is half the fun.  OK, 1/10 the fun.
