Hmm interesting. It needs to perform really well to have any chance in the LC market. It also better be quiet, it also may not fit in a lot of cases too.

It looks like a phase change cooler... should be no louder than a dorm fridge and don't see why it couldn't work well. It's not a new innovation... should be something like those ice chests that plug into your car's cigarette lighter. Well, a little more complicated...
It's extreme cooling pushed to the limit of what is practical. You can beat it with dry ice or liquid nitrogen, but those are hardly practical solutions.

Those components in the cutaway look exactly like refrigerator components. Unfortunately, that means compressor noise. I can't see this thing being any quieter, but it will be a different sort of noise than fans.

We are developing our own cooling system in-house. It has no moving parts, literally chills the liquid, and the CPU water block develops a nice layer of frost if it's run at full power with no load.

Very nice.. Next pc I have built will most likely have phase change, in 2-3 years the technology for phase change should be functioning at its highest efficiency.

1-2 months. I don't have any other information to disclose ;)

It has no moving parts unlike the phase change. Easy to ship etc...

More importantly then ETA... What will it cost?

I think Alex is attempting to string us along waiting, biting our nails in anticipation, for something great... Sounds like Blizzard and SC2. Smile

Eeeek, hopefully with something to prevent condensation like that from making nice little puddles on your motherboard, yes? That's what always freaks me out about systems that actually lower the temperature of the liquid to room temperature or below.

The unit will adjust it's cooling system to ensure it sits right above condensation temperatures.

It will however be a very expensive system, you're looking at $700-$900

What kind of temps would you see with your cooling system on a 965?

Will it require a special case to fit in?

Whats the maintenance like?

Sounds like its going to be some type of water chiller that cools the liquid as well as the cpu block.
