Hey, had my DS comp for about 5 months now, annnd i think I've hit something. You know how there are actually two versions of the EVGA E-GeForce 9600 GT?

Obviously it doesn't look like much, one's brighter and has an open-end heatsink, but the one with the closed end heatsink crashes the computer...
If I go 5 minutes to one hour with the closed heatsink model in the comp, regardless of seating arrangement, the computer WILL crash, as in the video gets cut and I gotta do a forced reset...
Hmmm....

EDIT : Getting the closed ended 9600 GT replaced to see what happens, new 9600 GT should arrive around now...

Not a glitch, just a cheaper heatsink.  I don't like those small ones that blow hot air into the case.

Nah, the temps were relatively the same, but the running the comp without the closed end model doesn't crash it. I got the replacement recently, installed it, went SLI for a few hours, and no crashing happened since. :D

That heatsink isn't half bad compared to the older version (now that I compared the two again), some other manufacturers used really small/crap ones to cut costs a bit.

Using the same video card models was no good, still crashed eventually.

However, ever since switching to Win7, the problem has mysteriously gone away...
