Budget: under$4k
Expectations: I know some ideas may be for upgrades may be small but I'd still like to look at potential upgrades Usage: Gaming, moving to 4k displays Special Needs: nothing too special other than moving to 4k monitors Current Specifications: Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X (12-Core) 4.8 GHz Turbo Motherboard: ASUS PRIME X570-P / MSI X570-A Pro (AMD X570) (Up to 2x PCI-E Devices) (No SLI Support) System Memory: 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Digital Storm Performance Series Power Supply: 850W Digital Storm Performance Series (Modular) (80 Plus Gold) Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Optical Drive: - No Thanks Storage Set 1: 1x SSD M.2 (1TB Digital Storm M.2 Performance Series) (NVM Express) Storage Set 2: - No Thanks Storage Set 3: - No Thanks RAID Config: - No Thanks RAID Card: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Graphics Card(s): 1x GeForce RTX 3070 8GB (VR Ready)
Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio so my initial thought was going with a 40 series video card, and potentially motherboard and/or processor upgrade if needed. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated |

I have a RTX 4080, and it is awesome at 4K. Am very glad I got it.

I think, the platform (CPU + motherboard + RAM) will be fine for a few years yet.
An RTX 4080 is a good option, or rather a 4080 Super as it's technically (i.e., MSRP) cheaper. Here are some benchmarks using Unigine's Superposition and GPU Score's Relic of Life: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 (EVGA FTW3 Ultra) Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti (Asus ProArt OC) Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 (Asus ProArt OC) |

You should consider getting the Samsung 990 Pro SSD for storage. It only costs an additional $61, and it’s 3.5x faster than your current selection.

The 990 is indeed fast, as I have that too. My PC boots up really fast. I would get it if I were you.
