My desktop has 2 hard drives.  the main one is a 128 SSD and the second drive is a standard drive used mostly for storage.

I want to upgrade my main drive and have no problem with reinstalling all software since I kept my Digital Storm welcome folder and have hard copies of all my programs.

Is it as easy as taking out the old SSD and putting in the new one or is it more difficult than that?

You can transfer the info from one drive to another if you like the original setup you are already running. I am not 100% sure, but you may ne the info on your old drive first to boot up your system. Since you are on a desktop, you should be able to just add the hard drive into your configuration and then transfer the information to new drive and then change your drive out. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I did something similar to that a few years ago with a personal build and it worked.

Intel SSDs come with a program to help you clone your current SSD/HD onto your new one. That's how I did the transfer for mine.
