Wouldn't it seem likely that with the advent of more demanding physics engines, Direct X11, the growth of the SLI industry, more expansive motherboards and the newer more powerful 300 series coming out that Nvidia will allow for an SLI physx solution based on the single card setup they have now.

Basically the SLI would be the Physx processor while the non-SLI 300 series or whatever would be the graphics processor. That way your SLI setup would still be useful and you could keep the cards.

Just a wild thought I had.

I'm not sure why you would want a powerful SLI setup to be your PPU as hardly any good games use PhysX and played on the gimped card. Maybe you meant the other way around? If so, it already is possible. Just go to your nvidia control panel and specify which card you want to be your PPU. For example you can have SLI GTX 275 and a 9800GT to be your PPU.

Really? I wasn't aware you could, for example, have 2 260's SLI'd and the standalone 275 and have the SLI'd pair be a physx processor. I thought it was only one card.

Don't believe you can have your SLI setup be the PPU. I'm not sure why you would want a SLI setup to be your PPUs since hardly any good games use PhysX.

That is true. Due to it being a Nvidia exclusive, it's going to take longer to be adopted, if it gets adopted at all. As much as I love seeing all the awesome physx action, I don't think it's gonna happen soon. D:

Ok, bad idea. I'll shut up yet again and keep thinking about only tomorrow.

Ya, it was pretty stupid for Nvidia to buy PhysX. There's no place for it =\ Blizzard and Valve (two best developers) are not going to use it because Valve uses their own and Blizzard uses Havoc. And every developer is obviously going to pick Havoc because Intel and AMD both support it.
