contrast ratio and repsonse time are bs numbers there to fool the consumer.
Most important thing about a monitor is its panel, right now there are 2 major ones, TN and IPS, IPS has superior picture quality/clarity. we won't know what you need till we know the res we need to support, so what is the budget for the monitor? |

that looks good.....my only concern about the response time is with the racing simulator...ive been told by several players that higher response times allow for some bluring as the cars move on track....ive not experienced this because ive always had 2ms response time so im not sure if its true or not...but other than that monitor looks great

eneedham72 response time is a bs number its not real, there is no real way of measuring response time the closest to it would be white to white but that would be a big number for everybody so in order to fool consumers they go grey to grey or black to black, which don't mean nothing.
on top of that they method they use is different so you can't even compare one response time to another, since different methods yield different numbers. I'm not sure if we have anybody doing iracing with these monitors but for all the other games users have reported no lagging or ghosting. So tell me what you think and we will get going. |

Hi eneedham72,
The three year warranty only covers parts for one year. You might want to upgrade to a longer warranty period. There is also another fan you want to buy for the top of that case. DST4ME will probably cover that. You also want to ask for the Free DS T-Shirt Frank |

CM is out of the fan or something, I have not been able to find it yet.
FW is correct the 3 year limited warranty is only one year part 3 years labor. sound card upgrade is perfectly fine if sound is important to you, the mobo I chose for you has plenty of room even after sli 570 for pci cards like sound cards. |

Doing a google search on the monitor you're planning to buy and looking up some reviews is always a good idea. There are quite a few reviewers out there than will do tests to measure input lag on monitors vs a CRT in clone mode. 16ms = 1 frame, and for the vast majority of people it would be very difficult to notice. Some monitors are pretty craptastic and can give up to 2-4 frames of input lag which could very well be noticeable to some. Like DST said, the numbers of response time are usually bunk because they are done gray to gray, but you never know what shades of gray are being used or the exact methodology, so a 2ms monitor could very well be slower than a 5ms monitor from another manufacturer.
The fastest TN panels will be slightly faster than the fastest IPS panels, but you'd be hard pressed to notice. If you really want to notice a difference, get yourself a 120hz monitor. The difference between 60hz and 120hz will be more noticeable than any shady response time numbers could ever be. Edited by Invader Mig - 03 Aug 2011 at 5:51am |

The 2000 series is about two years newer, it is a faster archetype. Some differences in their chipsets (motherboards) as well, but the only big difference is the number of PCIe lanes they have. The 900 series platform has more lanes, so it can run triple or quad SLI/Crossifre, where the 2000s are effectively limited to dual SLI/Crossfire. |

No with this platform, the a70 and noctua already do a fantastic job, making cooling no issue. also the cooling system I think they said is for the lowend if I'm not mistaken. @eneedham72, IM is right, 120Hz monitor is probably best for least lag. Edited by DST4ME - 04 Aug 2011 at 1:49am |

I'm not the expert on 120Hz monitor here, post a thread about it in the hardware section and see what dragoon and Invader Mig have to say about it.
