Hello all!
Bought a DS desktop a few years back now, and it is finally starting to show its age a bit. Basically, everything works wonderful, but the newer games are showing some serious frame-rate issues. Looking for a (semi) cost effective upgrade(s). I am a person who has never built a computer before, so please be gentle. Thinking new graphics card, but want to make sure it will go with the rest of the setup... what is the best card that the power supply (motherboard, etc.) can still handle? Not looking for a total rebuild. Should I consider any other upgrades? Memory or something? Any input super greatly appreciated! Good to hear your rig is still going strong.
Your psu, mobo, etc can easily handle any graphics card you want, which is all you need to upgrade. Gtx 1080 will give you a good 50% bump in FPS over the gtx 970. The newer 2080, etc cards are even stronger. Depends what monitor resolution you have. Your cpu and ram are fine. Get what your budget allows and have fun.

+1 ![]() Had to delete same thing in other words. That's a good system and will rock with a new card.

Changed the GPU in my Vanquish 2 Lvl 4 early last year (PNY GTX770 to EVGA GTX1070)... the performance increase was phenomenal. IMHO that's all you'll need for a couple of more years.
