How easy/hard is it to make upgrades? My Level 3 vanquish 7 came in recently and I want to upgrade things like the Ram and GPU. How would I do so? What RAM is recommended? What GPU is recommended?
Any advice is helpful, thanks! |

That's certainly a variable question to answer. First off, your computer is pretty well equipped as is. While 8 GB of RAM is not ideal for extensive multi-tasking, it is good enough for almost all the games that are getting a lot of play these days. The GTX 1060 6GB is the gamer's choice for excellent performance at 1080p, and really doesn't call for any upgrade at that resolution.
That said, adding RAM and changing a video card are pretty easy upgrades. In the case of RAM, it's a good idea to match what you have if you can. DS can help you with that. IDK if they will sell you matching RAM for your Vanquish, but they will be happy to recommend what to buy for best results. Then you just unplug, open up your case, make sure you're grounded, and plug the RAM modules into the open slots. As for a video upgrade, I'd advise you play the heck out of your rig and enjoy! You should be near max and high frames on just about everything you're playing. If you someday step up to a 1440p (also known as 2K) monitor, you would probably want an RTX 2070 for solid results, or a 2080 for over the moon performance. Unplug, open case, be grounded, and replace your old card with the new one. Plenty of YouTube videos, there's also some here in the "Support Guides" section. |

Awesome, glad to know that there isn't any extensive steps to upgrading. This is my first rig, and I am getting amazing specs in most games (Black Ops 4 runs like a charm!) but I knew that I would keep this PC for a long time coming, and I do multitask like crazy. I will be sure to contact DS about ram upgrades when the time comes.
One thing about the graphics card however, is that in the desc. for the PSU, it says that it only supports up to a 1080 (ti or not, it isn't specified) so if i wanted to upgrade to a 2080 or something above the 1080, would I have to swap the power supply out as well? |
