Well my rig was in stage 6, now it's back to the work bench.
I had DS order a Titan fenrir for my cpu heat-sink (for looks only, cause performance wise it's about the same as what DS offers. The stock setting running at 2200rpm has a noise profile of about 58dba which is on the noisy side. The fan has a slower profile which allows it to run at 900rpm which reigns in the sound by about 20dba without much in lost performance.
Apparently when they installed the fan limiter it did not seem to do anything.
So here is my dilemma...
My case is the assassin with S2 sound reduction(not sure if that changes anything).
I am really keen on having a quiet rig (tranquility is key)
What i'm not sure about is how much louder is this going to be in my case. Will I even be able to hear the difference over my 2 GTX470's?
Cause if not, I may as well tell them to just scrap the fan limiter.
The performance of the heat-sink would be slightly higher anyway.
what do you guys think?

tks
tyler

So since the sli470's would be the loudest fans in the case, I have been looking over some reviews. A single 470 at max load pumps out about 45Dba(times 2 of course). That is still 13dba less than this heat-sink running at full power. I wish i could just hear how loud this actually would be with the case closed. Cassandra (sales rep) relayed this sound concern to the tech people. Hopefully they will say It's a mute issue, cause it's not any louder than the 2GPU's
