to GTX 570 or not?

The specs of my rig are in my sig.  Its a few years old but i still couldn't be more happy with the performance.  I game at 1680x1050 and have a single gtx 260 would upgrading to a 570 show a difference? would there be any bottleneck that would prevent this?  I know currently i still can run stuff at fairly high detail but on newer games im finding my self turning down things to medium to be able to play.

Hey there rice, if the 260 is not giving you what you need then the 570 will do so for sure, plus dx11 tho I don't know if that is important to you or not, a 570 has the power sli 260 if you will.

Hi Rice,

Don't feel bad because no one else answered. The question is pretty straight forward and DST4ME told you what you needed. The 570 will give you better performance than the 260. You would also be ready should you decide to buy a bigger monitor. It is just a matter if your present performance is poor enough to justify buying a new card. If I was just getting so-so performance I might wait till the 580 comes down in cost and you are ready to upgrade your monitor.

did you get a GTX  570?  it would be a good upgrade, be about the last good upgrade, until you replaced your 775 platform.Big%20Smile  your current setup will not be a bottleneck for a GTX 570, and if/when you get it OC the crap out of it.Evil 
is your current 260 a 216 SP??

yea ive got a 216,  Im not even sure if its worth it for the 350-400$, once the replacement comes out for 1366 im prob going to jump on board fairly early.  From whats been tossed around q3/q4 of this year so i may just hold out for a new rig.
