my new Ds rig should be shipping soon. i got the stage 7 e mail with the OC settings. i know DS knows there stuff but i was just a little concerned, i got the I7 980x with the free (up too 3.9) OC. the e mail i got said Cpu at 3.8ghz and Vcore at 1.48125. ive read posts of people with the same Cpu running at 4.4ghz give or take with only like 1.44 - 1.45 Vcore. am i reading or understanding wrong ? and is 1.48 Vcore fine to run 27/7 ?
like i said i know DS knows there stuff. (hence the reason i ordered from them) i just wanted to be extra certain ya know. that and ive been drooling for just over 3 weeks n ow waiting for it to ship ![]() i soooooo cant wait |

It is under warranty.
has to be a typo, 1.38V would be more in line. no such setting as 1.48125 in the BIOS.
All CPU's are different, 1.18V for mine to be stable at 3.8Ghz.

He has the "H20: Stage 4: Sub-Zero LCS Cooling System: CPU Only" package.
@Mortus, I would recommend trying to lower the VCORE two steps at a time (minus key on your keyboard) and run LinX to see if you can fine-tune it further if you wish. |

ya ill have to have a look. im not worried about making it any faster but from everything ive read 1.48 on the vcore is a a pushing into the dangerous range, and ive seen a lot higher clocks then 3.8 with a lot less vcore. but like justin said, maybe its a typo

I believe the threshold is 1.375v for the CPU. I have seen it go past that mark on mostly liquid cooling setups.
