Hi All,
My new DS Bolt is arriving on Thursday and it is time to pick up a touch monitor. I am considering the following three monitors and would appreciate feedback from the DS community on any recommendations: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009438 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824260112 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005401 Thanks in advance for your replies. |

Just looking at your choices, the LG has the best rating and is priced middle of the road. I like the Dell's adjustable stand and also has good ratings but is the highest priced (nearly double the Acer). The Acer has some bad reviews but seems to be an okay display. All have 10 point touch and probably similar video quality.
If it were me & I was putting this on my desk, I'd go with the Dell because of it's ergonomics and adjustability. Plus, I like the idea of all the connectors located on the base (keeps wires nice & tidy). Now if you're wall mounting it, the Dell or LG won't work. Only the Acer is VESA mount compatible (I'm not too fond of it's single arm desk stand). |

Thanks for the feedback. Do you have insight as to what is the minimum required performance level for response rates to be ideal for gaming? My current Samsung is 2ms but I am noticing these touch screens are in the 5ms to 8ms range. I am wondering if these latter response times would result in lag for gaming?

Most monitors don't indicate input lag time only screen refresh lag time. This is way more important as this is the amount of time it takes for the screen to respond to a given input. I'd have to say that 80%+ of people wouldn't know the difference between a monitor that shows 1ms and one that shows 10ms in its specs. You'll see a lot of discussions concerning this on the net.
