    Posted: 04 Apr 2009 at 1:48am
I just wanted to know if anyone has tried the Accelero Xtreme on each of a TRI-SLI system with three GTX 285's.  I have been scavenging the internet for some information on this but haven't found anything.  I am looking for information on whether it has clearance between for each card with the cooler attached.

I'm curious about this as well for my 260's. Did you find an answer to this yet aperrigo? I am confused as to how it is SLI compatible. The 200 series of Nvidia cards are pretty much touching each other as is in any SLI configuration. I would think there is no room to fit a cooler on both my cards.

I sent them a question asking them about it myself.  The only board i know that it fits for sure is the MSI x48 board.  But, since that is old news for those gettin the new stuff, i sent them asking about the EVGA x58 board.  That was yesterday.  I have sent questions before, usually takes 2-3 days for them to respond.  Will post here with their exact reply when the let me know!

The design looks like it disperses alot of heat in the case, this would cause the ambient temps to be alot higher possibly resulting in a cpu temp rise...

As far as spacing goes..from the dimensions mentioned on their site I think the cooler is the same thickness as the stock cooler attached.  I am just waiting for them to respond to me.  I may have to harrass them to get an answer.  I will post benchmarks on the temps I see for the stock 285 coolers.

@Dsnewb:

The design actually takes the three fans and pushes the air to the outside of the case via the back of the card.  I have one on my 9800 GTX, and works flawlessly.  Very quiet also.  I have mine set at 50% and its silent.  Idles in the 30's, on game loads its at around 55-60.  At 100% you can hear it,but not overly much, and load temps are in the 40's, with prime running it reaches around 64.  Still phenomenal.

The idle/load temps are pretty impressive, although from my experience prime95 will not cause the graphics cards to work very much. If you want a stress tester for the gpus I recommend furmark.

Ive just never been a big fan of aftermarket vga cooling solutions because 9 out of 10 times they don't work as well as the stock cooling. To each his own though... Ouch

This has been the first ive used that actually worked as advertised, so i definately understand your reluctance.  That and the price tag are enuff to make you take pause.  The stock cooler does a good enuff job per mfg specs on cooling, its just not quiet enuff for me personally.  Running mine at 50% is better than the stock on 100% and near silent, so its perfect for me.   All my opinion naturally.  But i am a believer in their products generally speaking.  Very high quality stuff.

I believe they would work as well...I wish I had a phone number for the Artic Cooling company...I only have there address and fax number..
I have left several emails to them with no reply.
BUT,  I got a response from Thermalright saying that no motherboard would support TRI SLI with their VGA Cooler.  Wish I deleted that email after I read that...I head from one website that someone actually DUAL SLI'd with these coolers...which is understandable, but I have 3 of them.  I may have to look at the specs again and figure out if it is the same width as the stock heatsink.
Until I hear from AC or some other manufacturer about this I don't plan on doing it.
Thank you everyone for giving me your opinion...once I get more info on it I will definitely share the wealth.

After waiting for a week for them to respond, all they have done is request for some of their other specialists to try and answer my question.

So now I am thinking about finding a thermoelectric cooling kit for a TRI-SLI system..I will open up a new discussion board for that question.

Otherwise, DSO can close this one out...I can't seem to get any validation on my question posed to ArticCooling.
