*no spoilers*

Just saw this tonight, and I have to say: Not impressed.
Visually, it was very good, no complaints. But the story felt so hollow and dead to me it dragged the beautiful visuals way down. Worst of all was the "young" jeff bridges character, he looked like he rolled straight out of Crysis and to the big screen!

It is a shame too, Disney is obviously capable of some epic movies and they had a good chance to make this big but it just didn't feel like they tried very hard.

Interested if anyone else wants to/doesnt want to see it and what they thought. I know its not exactly pc-related, but it seems this would attract a similar crowd.

everybody said the story line was not that great, however they said the effects where great.

they just can't make great movies anymore, everything is a remake, lazy.

Thanks for the information, that's pretty much the exact same tune I've been getting from everyone else who has seen it. I'll probably have to rent it, just because its Tron, but I seriously doubt I'll be paying 10$ to see it in theaters.

a wierd thing was, there was like this, disclaimer? at the begining

it said something like: "most of this movie is shot and intended to be viewed in 2d, but keep on your 3d glasses"

not sure what that was about. i would have seen 2d anyway but 3d had way more showtimes so i just ended up seeing it that way. really, the overall video effects were so cool, i barely even noticed the 3d

Lol, yeah I was wondering about the wierd disclaimer too xD, but yeah I loved the idea of tron to be honest. Sadly it felt like the storyline didn't reach its potential x.x

I had no faith in this movie. I knew the visuals would be great, and for that reason they would not try hard on the story. Can anyone say Avatar? I still might watch it for the visuals at some point though, maybe some greens can make the experience that much better.

I saw Tron yesterday and I enjoyed it. I thought the music was probably the most appealing part for me, and the visuals themselves were pretty stunning. I thought the story was a little stiff though. The acting also had it's good parts and it's "Whaaaauuuutttt??!" moments, and I think they could have elaborated more on some of the back story, especially when it comes to the character Tron or more on the Isos or whatever the chick is.

ps. olivia wilde is smokin'

Saw it a few days ago, agree the story was lacking.
As for the visual aspect, it was great.

I thought that was interesting as well ender:

"most of this movie is shot and intended to be
viewed in 2d, but keep on your 3d glasses
"

In fact I saw a few people not wearing the glasses.

I would give this movie 4 out of 5 stars.  Great story and surprisingly good acting.  Great special effects and just an all-out joy.  I love being caught off guard with a movie, and this one definitely did.  I did not expect much from it, and I was proven wrong.  Olivia Wilde being completely smokin hot doesn't hurt either.
