Hey all, working here at DS has a lot of Perks. One of them is talking to all of you, and of course the new customers.
Me: Thank you for choosing digital storm, My name is Kelly. How can I provide you with excellent service?
Al: I am looking to buy a pc from you guys. I have a configuration number... xxxxxxxx
I just ordered from Velocity Micro, and i have to say, I am disgusted. I ordered a computer from them on 10/6. I just got my system and well, their website still says that my order is in assembly. I called them 1 week after I placed the order and they told me everything from they were out of video cards to whatever. Then my order finally went to assembly. I called 2 days ago to find out what the hell is up with my system and it's still in assembly. Well I just got it yesterday, and they still say it's in assembly.
Me: That's horrible!
AL: That's not all. I opened it up and I heard a bunch of rattling. I opened the side and there were 6 screws rolling around.
Me: That's actually happened to us before. Unfortunately, our computers are at the mercy of the shipping method we use, so sometimes, they get a little beat up.
Al: I understand but there was 1 screw that shows evident of being in the hdd, the rest weren't.
So I called them up, and they wanted me to send it back. Then I asked if they can just send me a new one, and I was told no.
Me: Well that's kind of an industry standard...
Al. Not when they told me that i had to pay to send it back. I just spent $100 to ship the damn system back to them and I just got it yesterday.
I called my bank, and the bank teller asked me: "Why didn't you go with Digital Storm, that's where I got my system from. They actually call you every few days to let me know where the computer is in the process.
Me: Hehehe... well sir, that is how we roll. We don't like to keep the customer in the dark. Snags do happen and so we call the customer as often as possible to let them know what needs to be done or that their system is taking just a little longer than the estimated ship date.
Al: I read your reseller ratings, I've read the forums... Now let's do this right and let's order this system!
So, I want to take this time and thank Velocity Micro for sending us yet another, soon to be satisfied customer! ANd to the agent at Chase, thanks! Get in touch with us so you can get the referrel credit!

I swear these are computer companies are frickin doped up to the eye's. What surprizes me is that people still go to them :/. I almost went through voodooPC which are so overpriced it's not even funny. I have read a lot of posts on other PC companies such as AVA direct, voodooPC, etc etc, all of them have some horrible stories from the customers, and most of them are not even answered. If they are answered, the companies always say "we are doing an investigation on this matter" which means THOSE COMPANIES SCAM. lol
Investigation my ass, I would literally go over there and shove something in there you know whats.

Did they tell us they were a referral? If not, have them call us up and let us know. That way we can send you your $50.

I can vouch for the updates being a part of the building process. Besides being able to check my status with my order number, i have recieved e-mails all along the way telling me what stage the machine was in. I got one tonight that at first made me sad.

I am in the process of pressing charges on hypersonic, haha... yeah that bank teller could make a lot of money if he looks at everybodies credit card statements and tells them to go to DSO if they buy from somewhere else :D

Wow, I didn't even know you guys offered referral credits. Thats awesome! I'd be a rich man if Dehli..I mean Dell did that back in the day. They would probably send me rupees anyway-bastages. Well, thats good to know you guys do that, but I already knew the company I would be steering friends to this holiday season anyway.
And I agree with ya Bigdog-I've seen those replies from other companies on RR--lame. Most won't even reply at all, which sometimes i think is better than giving the half-assed excuses and fairy tale investigations though. I still firmly believe word of mouth is the best advertising for any company, especially smaller ones. That story reminds me of a commercial Kelly.."We lost another one to Digital Storm". ![]() |
