    Posted: 05 Dec 2011 at 8:37pm
So ive been trying this for a few days now, ever since ive gotten BF3, ive had quite a few Blue screen of deaths poppin up while playing the game, or right after exiting.

So i updated my gfx drivers but that did not fix the problems, although i never deleted old drivers thats my next mission.

Anyways ive been googling and searching a ton b4 i came here to ask, but im wondering exactly what type of file i need to download to update my bios.  I got a file off of the asus website and burned it to a disk and a usb aswell. Finally figured out how to get pc to boot from a cd/usb and it didnt recognize the file on them.

I have a ODE lvl 3, which uses a ASUS Sabrtooth P67, made in july, so there have been quite a few BIOS updates released since then. Id tell you what file i have but im having problems with the ASUS website right now. I think it was a .ROM file or something like that.

Anyways just wondering easiest way to go about updating bios and what type of file it should be, TY.

just got a BSOD, on top it said dsgmms1.sys gonna be googling that now.
one i had yesterday was "memory managment".

PS. I just want to make sure i have the right ROM file and wondering why when i went boot from disk it didnt boot like i thought it would. Do i have to configure the file or do anything to it? All i did was burn it to a disk and then boot from disk, ad it was a no go. Thanks

Don't upgrade bios unless you have to, odds are you problem is bf3 and not the bios.

let me look at the dump file that from the dsgmms1.sys or your last dump file.

TY for your response, so yea havent updated anything yet, although i did go back and roll back gfx drivers and reinstall new ones with a custom install so they delete and over write the old ones. And after 2 hours of gameplay last night no crash, but id still like to know the answer to this.

So I'm a PC Newb naturally since I cant update my bios, and with that said im not exactly sure what a dump file is, ill be off to google after this.

So anyways if youd let me know where to go etc etc ill post it for you, I only found the event logger the other day with the help of a friend, Thanks again.

All files and etc don't get deleted, you have to delete them manually or with driver sweeper.

your bios update is rom file, you burn it to a cd or something and boot off of it and update.

if you have bsod again let me know and we will get into dump files.
