I have two Dell 2407 Monitors.  A Dell Gen3  and a DS configured for FS X.  The DS has an nVidia 8800GTX .  I have the DS as a stand alone that does not attach to the internet etc.  I want to use the Dell for internet and E-Mail.  Is it possible to attach a Y-Cable (DVI) to one monitor that will attach to one port on the 8800GTX and the other on the Dell.  The second monitor with attach directlly to the other port on the 8800GTX.  Your comments would be greatly appreciated. gbergh

are you basically saying you want both PCs to be able to be connected to the same monitor?

Thanks for your prompt reply.  Yes, I want the Dell to use one monitor and I want the DS with the 8800GTX to use both Monitors.

Many thanks for the URL to Newegg.  That is exactaly what I am looking for.  I really like the Belkin solution.  I have it on order and it should be here in a couple of days.  Many thanks again for your help.  gbergh

Yes, I do want two towers to share one monitor.  Then inaddition the DS tower will also interface with the other monitor. To recap the DS tower will interface with two 2407 monitors and the Dell will interface with one monitor. I have looked at several DVI switches before the DST4ME recommendation.  Those DVI switches did not offer the resolution that the Belkin DVI switch offered.  I thank you for your comment. gbergh

I have 2 people on my forum that use a dvi switch and they love theirs, but they are not gamers.

As HM said if you could give us your review that would be great, so everybody can benefit from your experience

Good evening, I will report out after I complete the instalation.  I am of the mindset that I will only use the DVI feature of the switch.  I will continue to use seperate Keyboards, speakers etc.  I apologize, I fail to understand how the Power Supply Unit will be impacted by the DVI switch.  As you can tell I have so much to learn.  Thanks again for your input.  gbergh

hey would you like to be able to move your mouse and keyboard between the two?

you got to check out this app called synergy

Originally posted by Synergy's Discription:

Synergy lets you easily share a single mouse and keyboard between multiple computers with different operating systems, each with its own display, without special hardware. It's intended for users with multiple computers on their desk since each system uses its own monitor(s).

Redirecting the mouse and keyboard is as simple as moving the mouse off the edge of your screen. Synergy also merges the clipboards of all the systems into one, allowing cut-and-paste between systems. Furthermore, it synchronizes screen savers so they all start and stop together and, if screen locking is enabled, only one screen requires a password to unlock them all. Learn more about how it works.
