Hi
I just put in all my hardware in the case. (800d Corsair)
I have the Windows 7 professional pro 64 bit english.
The DVD writer/reader has an IDE connector and a power 4 pin conncetor.
MY mobo is EVGA classified 3x SLI x58-

I have connected the LG DVD player/writer with the IDE cable.
And I have connected the HDD with a sata cable, and of course a power cable. Think it is Sata too. dunno.
(I put the LG DVD on MASTER, with the pin)

When I turn the power on, the screen shows: No drives found.
THen it loads, and shows me some green letters of something, then it loads some more,
And the new message is:
BOOTMGR is missing
press ctrl+alt+del to restart.......

At my first try, it showed only the no drives found thing, I started installing windows, but suddenly I got an error message that some file was missing? I restarted and wanted to try again, but this is where I got the BOOT MGR is missing...

(I have a DVD Writer/player, not a CD player.)(But I could connect one and try?)

PLEASE HELP!

lets start off with basics, did you go into the BIOS and hit load defaults?

Do you have a modular power supply? if yes did you verify that you put the correct connectors in it, Pcie and molex will be different, and it is possible to fry the HDD(s) that way
Did you set up the boot order?

Yes I loaded defaults.

I have modular power supply. The HX 1000W Corsair one.

I will check the connectors now.

in the BIOS did you set the HDD up for RAID, AHCI or IDE?
when you press the start button, tap the ESC key until you see the boot manager come up, select the DVD/CD drive

I connected the Hard drive another way. It is running, I can feel the thing inside it moving.

Now I cant get to the install screen for windows, (It worked without the HDD connected)

I get this msg:
BOOTMGR is missing
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del ti restart

it matters how you have your BIOS setup, but you should not have to enter it again.

Hi
I do not need to do it again, though The bios is telling me that no drives are found, but it still continues and enters windows. Is this normal, is this a problem? Or can I ignore it?

I think when you say it says no drives found, stems from you not disabling the Jmicron controller, so you don't have any SATA's connected to the red SATA's on your motherboard do you? If no, then there is no problem, and you can fix it by disabling the Jmicron crap, but if you don't it is no big deal.

have you installed the MOBO drivers? the GPU drivers?
The Red SATA's on your motherboard, think of them as your sisters, and the other ones like hot chicks, put in in the correct ones, don't touch the red ones.
