Ok my current system is:
EVGA 780i MoBo EVGA 9800 GTX Intel Q6600 processor 2x2Gb G.Skill RAM 1066 2 500 Gb HDD's Thermaltake 700W PS DVD/CD combo burner Thermaltake Big Typhoon cpu cooler Antec 900 case Vista Ultimate 32-bit okay basically my system crapped out today, after two weeks of BSOD's and constant freezing. My RAID 0 config was destroyed and i have reformatted them both now :( (bye bye 400+ Gb of files) and I am just absolutely furious that i am now having to update my system after only a year of use. If my budget is $500, what is the best bang for my buck in terms of new compatible hardware??? PLEASE INPUT!!!! |

I gave you a link in the other thread were you originaly asked for ram, there is a bunch of mushkin ram listed there.
does your 780i support 45nm chip? I don't remember anymore, if it does then ya the q9650 is great. Edited by DST4ME - 26 Jul 2009 at 6:10pm |

Hey I was wondering if I went with the q9550, which is $100 less than the q9650, if that would be a better deal, because I have a CPU cooler that will easily allow me to overclock to where the q9650 is rated at. What do yall think?

the 9650 was the best bang for the buck, but the 9550 was great too, so if its worth it to you to go with the 9550, then the right choice is the 9550
