Updating Realtek Audio Drivers

I have an Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 motherboard with onboard Realtek audio. I noted the driver installed OEM by DS was dated November 2010 and the one on the Asus site was dated January 2011. I went to the Realtek site and was greeted by this message after clicking on the download tab:

"High Definition Audio Codecs     
Audio drivers available for download from the Realtek website are general drivers for our audio ICs, and may not offer the customizations made by your system/motherboard manufacturer. To be sure you obtain the full features/customizations provided in your original audio product, please download the latest drivers from your system/motherboard manufacturer's website.
[ ]I accept to the above."

Scared me off at first but the new driver from Realtek is dated December 2011 . . . nearly a year newer so I decided to give it a try. OMG what a difference! Improved the sound dramatically to the point I could hardly believe it. When I took off the old driver in Uninstall Programs in Control Panel the Realtek HD Audio Manager icon became inactive and I thought I had lost that software. But when I installed the new driver the Realtek HD Audio Manager came back with an all new face:


The Asus logo even appears on the updated software even though it did not come from there.
Anyway, much happier with the integrated audio on my motherboard now.
