Topic: Upgrade existing Digital Storm RAMPosted: 08 Jul 2018 at 9:21pm |

Hello, I am interested in upgrading my existing RAM: 2x8GB DDR4 3000Mhz Digital Storm Performance Series, adding another pair of memory sticks 2X8GB.
I know that I should go for exactly the same RAM to avoid problems, but I am confused about the generic name of the RAM. What is the best approach to add ram to an existing Digital Storm setup? Thanks |

DS has used ADATA ram in the past, not sure about yours.
Use Cpu-Z to get your exact timing specs or use Crucial site’s memory tool to get an idea. You have 16gb ram. Do you need more? Gaming doesn’t.

Thanks bprat22. I do need more ram, not for gaming though but for work related image/video analysis.
I would be interested in getting the clock specs, but specially the brand of the ram, to buy exactly the same. |

As bprat said, Cpu-Z will give you the information you need on speed, etc, and Crucial's site can match the memory with what you have. Good luck.

Thanks, so I understand that the brand of the Digital Storm RAM is Crucial?

The brand isn't necessarily Crucial, but probably ADATA.. Crucial website will match the ram to what you have, like timings, voltage, etc. You don't have to replace with the same brand. If you want to match the exact same ram, either look on the ram sticks or ask DS. ![]() |
