Hello All,
I have a level 2 lynx and I’m interested in upgrading the graphics card but I’m not sure what my system can handle. I’m wanting to get more frames at 1080p and potentially get over 100 frames at 1440p. What would be the best option for my current build? The card I'd recommend for what you want would be a 3070 or a 3070Ti, and your power supply could handle that pretty easily. I specced your usage with that GPU at ~470W with a few more storage devices and an all-in-one cooler you probably don't have.
IMHO the 4070Ti could work, but is not a good buy right now with a deal like this on the table: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Graphics-DisplayPort-Military-Grade-Certification/dp/B0BQ921V81/ref=sr_1_2?gclid=CjwKCAiAoL6eBhA3EiwAXDom5lnx_1viBOzWp_JBL6INuJE69Rzvt2CJfyf76dvSjO5Jwb7ujpd1MBoCCcwQAvD_BwE&hvadid=622735913905&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9012152&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=17905976353930058115&hvtargid=kwd-963927081971&hydadcr=25648_13467814&keywords=gtx%2Brtx%2B3070&qid=1674561486&sr=8-2&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.2b70bf2b-6730-4ccf-ab97-eb60747b8daf&th=1 What do you think? ![]() PS I'm not selling that card in particular, it's just a good one I found. Please look around for yourself. There's not a very large performance difference between the 3070 and the 3070Ti, so check framerates and shop wisely. ![]() Edited by Cretae - 24 Jan 2023 at 4:31am |

IDK, my system is 5yo with a 1070 in it. There are adapters available that will get you where you need to be. Perhaps one of my brethren knows for sure, and will speak up. The Internet knows everything.

It fit just fine. Plugged in both 8 pins. First night I gamed at 1080p and the card didn’t reach 54*, second night I played at 1440p and was averaging 170-180. I’m no guru but this card seems like it will be real nice at anything 1440! Right on and I appreciate the recommendation!!

I have two more spots for two more sticks of ram and what looks like another spot for a ssd on the motherboard. What benefits can I get if I fill these slots up? Thanks in advance.

Well, more fast storage if we're talking about another M2 slot.
The RAM is good for now, there's no need to exceed 16GB for gaming these days. It's a nice-to-have if games ever begin to access beyond 16 GB. That might not be any time soon, and games will continue to run without an upgrade. If it's far enough down the road you look to do that, your best bet would be to get two 16GB sticks and toss the aged RAM, to avoid problems. |
