My current configuration is:
Storage Set 1: 1x SSD (240GB Digital Storm Performance Series)
Storage Set 2: 1x Storage (2TB Seagate / Toshiba)
Storage Set 3: - No Thanks

I'd like to upgrade so that I have at least 512GB of SSD.

I'm not very technical, I have bought and installed additional RAM for previous computers.

How would I go about upgrading my SSD?

-Kevin

Check your config or mobo manual to be sure you have two M.2 slots on the board. Most do, but I can't say what you have, so look that up.

You'll want an NVMe M.2 SSD for the best upgrade. they are 5x as fast as the SATA one you have now. An M.2 slot is right on your motherboard. The 240GB one you have is plugged into the slot, and held down by a single screw at the other end. It's black, flat, about 3 inches long and around an inch wide. It's possible it's under some kind of heatsink, but only if you have a pretty fancy mobo. If you have a second slot, you do the same thing with the new SSD: plug it in and screw it down. Be sure you are unplugged from the wall, and ground yourself on your metal case before you go in there!

Find the new drive in Disc management and initialize it. I'm sure you already know you'll want this faster drive for your primary OS and apps, especially management utilities that scan your system. The speed upgrade will be pretty impressive!

If you need more help, everything you need is a few clicks away on Google. Even videos on YouTube. Good luck!
