Are you just upgrading video card, or looking at a new DS system?

I think it’s pretty easy to just upgrade to a much stronger GPU like the RTX 2070 and get some more miles on the old system. It’s a temporary fix, but most systems can handle one GPU upgrade. In my book, if it’s time to upgrade CPU ...it’s new system time as well.
There are always some performance bottlenecks to consider when adding new hardware to an older system...but that said, you would still see dramatically improved GPU performance in using a new RTX 2070 Super all around mid range card. Strong at 1080P and quite solid at 1440P/2K You obviously could have way stronger performance all around if you decide it’s time now for a new DS I-7 9700K or I9-9900K system and a stronger RTX 2080 Super or top of line RTX 2080 Ti GPU. My guess is your budget decides your next move for you. Edited by HockeyBuck - 22 Oct 2019 at 2:12pm |
