So I am attemtpting to upgrade to 8 however the scan of the system requirements tells me I need to have NX or XD toggled on...
OK fine I go into thte sytem BIOS and there is no toggle that I see to initiate this???

I'm running the I core i5 2500K 3.3GHz and the ASUS P8P67 LE

anyone have any idea how I can (if I can ) get this done? specific intructions would be great!

Hi Cocadori.... I have that chip/mobo on Win7 and haven't gone Win 8 but for that chip and mobo its not called NX but something like PAE I believe.    XD is there.

I haven't tried it but try going into Bios, Advanced, Advanced tab,  and to CPU Config area and enable/disable 'No-Execute Memory( or Page) Protection' or something similar in wording.   The disable selection cause XD flag to go to zero.   Save then exit and Then start over.

Hope this does it.    Good luck.

To enable the NX bit in BIOS:

1. Boot the system, hit the Delete key rapidly until you see the ASUS UEFI BIOS Utility
2. Click on the Advanced tab
3. Click on CPU Configuration
4. Scroll down to where it says Execute Disable Bit.
5. Click on the box to the right of the line where it says Disabled. A menu will pop up with two choices, click on Enabled.
6. Press F10 to save and exit settings.
