Trying to fine tune this build on my end, I didn't really know much about comps when I ordered it, and boy was I off... LOL

Ordered System Specs
Raven 1
650w Corsair TX
i7 920 OC'd to 3.33Ghz (Stock Cooler)
XFX X58i Mobo
6GB Mushkin 1333Mhz
Dual 9600 GT in SLI
Killer Xeno Pro

Blagh. Right now, the motherboard has been swapped out for a FTW3, Venomous X cooler put in, and a new OC of 3.6Ghz. Better, still could use a bit of work in the PSU, RAM, and graphics department in my opinion.

First thing I'm gonna work on is graphics, since I'm getting a DX11 capable laptop soon with a GTX460M, don't want my desktop lagging behind a secondary system. I've got my mind set on a GTX 470, since I do mild gaming, and I don't really mind to tune down settings to get a comfortable FPS. You think my current 650w can handle a GTX 470?

Second thing I'm pretty sure I need to swap out is the power supply. I really don't plan on going dual Fermi's, so anything over a kilowatt I don't think I need.

Third is RAM. Not so important, but gimme an opinion anyways. 1600mhz and not so expensive is what I'm looking for.

get the GTX 470.
The RAM, I am guessing can be pushed faster, so I see the biggest gains by far for the $$ to get a GTX 470, and tweak the rest of the existing components. we can help you get a bit more out of them.
Your 650 watt is fine, even if you push your GTX 470 a lot, and the 920 a lot more, you still will be fine.
Sell the dual 9600's and the killer Xeno, that should get you most of the way to a 470. lol

Honestly, I think you should just leave it alone and stop wasting money on replacing perfectly good parts for minuscule improvements. Save the money for future upgrades.

You could get a cheap 40GB Intel for OS/apps, but is probably about it for worthwhile upgrades.

I take that back, I love Justin's suggestion of selling the two 9600s and Killer Xeno Pro. I usually donate old parts or PCs to friends or relatives, so the idea of selling them hadn't even occurred to me. I would give up those parts for a better GPU in a heartbeat.

been LOOKING for places around my area that buy parts xD

hard to find a decent place though, most are just chinese repair shops that deal with dells. ONE was somewhat high end I guess, saw one or two GTX 295s up for sale there before. they didn't buy though.

still, what do you think I should use as an asking price? as in, how much should I sell the 9600 GTs for each, the Killer Xeno for, etc. I also have two spare 180mm fans (Silverstone non-standard fan), two spare Zalman fans, and two spare 120mm LED fans.

Staying on topic but with a different person:

I have a Nvidia 275 GTX 1.8 gig memory video card. Is there any reason I shouldn't sell it (for around 180-220) and buy a EVGA 465 GTX with another 20 to 40 bucks?

for anyone looking for a 465...I say screw it. If a budget fermi is what you're looking for, the 465 isn't your answer. Instead, the answer's coming in the next few weeks, the GF104 GPU powered GTX 460 is coming out. Estimated prices are $199(756MB) to $220 (1GB) I believe :D

Oh, and still. How much do you think I can probably sell each 9600 GT and the Xeno for...they 9600 GT's superclocked btw (serial number verified by EVGA).

bump? seriously, I need to know how much a superclocked 9600 GT and a Xeno might be worth used, those chinese guys downtown will always try to screw you over with their prices....NOT to be racist or anything lol, I'm taiwanese in fact, I just know those people. Did I ever mention that one day, a girl brought in a $2000 Dell Laptop for a virus cleanout, and those guys ended up disassembling the laptop, forgetting how to reassemble it, and offering a $500 DESKTOP as reimbursement? Whoa

The video card new is about $100, and DS charges $115 for the Xeno. Used might get you $50-65 for each. But really it's what someone is willing to pay. DST has ruined your market around here for the Xeno. Better hope that doesn't get out! LOL
