Heyo,

So I am now ready to finally get a graphics card for my PC now. But I dont really know what kind i should get and even if it'll work for me pc? Myself i am very mew to PC gaming and never built my own PC. I love to research but I wanted to get a professionals opinion before I go off and screw myself with getting the wrong card. As well I have the base level Vanquish, which has the graphics card built into the mother board. As well I'll post the mother board I have on with it, dont butcher me on how I did it >.<!

ASUS / MSI (AMD A320M Chipset) (Up to 2x PCI-E Devices)

Thanks again for the help!,

Knuckles

Hi,
That is a very good basic system and will really benefit from a GPU upgrade. Your graphics card is not built into the mobo but embedded in the cpu. Getting dedicated graphics will be a major step in performance. The recommended card for that setup is the GTX 1060 6GB. There is a cheaper 1060 but with only 3GB. Up to budget. You can see a bunch of them in Amazon with reviews. Some other more experienced members will be able to explain the difference better.
Keep us posted on what you do. Big%20Smile

hoserator set you on the right path. A GTX 1060 6GB will let you game at or near highest settings for any game at 1080p screen resolution. The 3 GB model (refers to the amount of dedicated video memory on chip) will be decent, but will not be as all-around powerful. For the little extra $, the 6GB is the better choice.

I personally recommend one of the models that have dual fans for better cooling. They all seem to have very high reviews. If you have more questions, ask away. If you want to see how a new card is installed, go to "View Our Support Guides" here on the forum and click on "Upgrade/Add Graphics Card" by DST4ME. You can also find video guides on YouTube.

Yeah I just ordered a ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Dual-Fan OC Edition VR Ready Dual HDMI DP 1.4 Gaming Graphics Card (DUAL-GTX1060-O6G). Which I think is what you both suggested. Wasnt that expensive like I thought it would be. But thank you both for your help! Its deeply appreciated! But what would be the next part I should look to upgrade? Processor and or my motherboard? Or am I good for like the next year with the system I have and to just have the GTX card

Excellent!

You are definitely good for better than a year. Everything else on that computer may not be high end, but it will run a gaming machine until they come out with a must-have game that exceeds your specs. That may take several years, ya never know! The CPU and mobo will be good pretty far down the road, the only thing to keep an eye on about game specs would be RAM.

I'm excited for you as you enjoy how much better your system just got with that easy upgrade!

You should have a full complement of cabling tucked away behind the motherboard somewhere. I don't have a Vanquish, but it would really surprise me if all the cabling you might need wasn't supplied as part of the mobo setup. If not already attached to the mobo, look in the box of extra gear that came with the computer.

If I'm wrong about this, call or e-mail DS. they will definitely help you.

In my Vanquish, when it came time to replace and upgrade, there were a number of cords that looked like they were attached but actually ran under some structural spacing. This is the excellent cable management by DS, to make the extras look like they belong. Keep poking around, you should find them.

Cheers!

Also look for a 8 pin connector. Most Pcie connectors that are used for the graphics card are what they call 6+2, meaning a 6 pin connector hooked to a 2 pin that disconnects when only the 6 pin is needed.

It’s there somewhere.
