Hello. So I want to upgrade my RAM. I was thinking 8-16GB of RAM. I wanted to know if anyone had some good suggestions based on my rig. I do not want to spend a huge amount. Somewhere near 100 would be nice... unless that is just unbelievably low.

PSU -750W Digital Storm Certified (Dual SLI Compatible)
MOBO - EVGA x58 LE Edition SLI
RAM - 6GB DDR3 1600Mhz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series
CPU - Intel Core i7 930
GPU - Gtx 480

If you want to know anymore information let me know. Thanks alot in advance.

Hi fillyi.......    I suggest the best way to go is go to Crucial.com and use their Memory Advisor tool. It'll ask for manufacturer, EVGA, model, x58LE sli and give you a few options. An example would be a 3x 4GB setup for 12Gb total.       Best to replace all modules with the same type for less chance of problems.

Hope this helps.

That does help - indeed. but it only shows Crucial memory that is compatible. What if I want another manufacturer?

Most if not all manufacturers have a selection tool.     Kingston, Corsair, etc.    PCMemoryStore.com and Newegg would be places to see the different manufa turers and prices.

There are so many types and choices, unless someone has your mobo, then its just hunting for something in your price range.     For gaming all you need is 8gb.   Other apps like video editing could use more. Even your 6GB ram is good for alot of needs unless you suspect your running out of ram
