I've heard all the time that upgrading laptops are expensive since it's much harder to upgrade. Is it really? I'm just wondering because I know Digital storm laptops aren't like every other laptop out there.
To me, it feels like it could be easily upgraded and I wanted to know if it's much easier (and cheaper) than say, a laptop bought from somewhere else. I was just asking because I have the Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz on the SX17 model and was thinking of upgrading my processor to the Intel Core 2 Extreme x9100. Would it be possible, and do-able on my own? Plus, how hard would it be to do on my own? Sorry for the questions. I'm just very into this whole idea of upgrading. |

the only thing you can upgrade on the laptop is HDD and in this case CPU.
now which c2d do you have? I think you should be able to do it if the mobo supports it, you have to check that with DS. upgrading the cpu is going be much more difficult then a pc tho cause you have to take the whole thing appart, but I have upgraded my dell laptop from a t7700 to an x9000 Edited by DST4ME - 18 Jun 2009 at 12:07am |

It's the Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz P9500. I still think it's not so bad if you know how to take apart the laptop

Might take a while, just found out the new CPU is like, $900 so yeah, I'm in no rush right now but it seems like a good idea in the future.
