I'm currently browsing the different pre-built models for the lynx and i'm looking to buy and upgrade a PC that is as cheap but as powerful as i can get it. I plan on buying the "good" model for the lynx that starts with the ryzen 5 processor, vega 11 graphics, 8GB ddr4 ram, and 2 TB of storage.

I plan on buying separate components alongside the initial ones that come with that model.

My main question is whether or not the motherboard for the good model of the lynx is the same as the other ones, or if they are different in any way.

When i purchase the good model i plan on buying another 8 GB stick of ddr4 ram, a 500 GB SSD, and i'm also looking to upgrade the graphics.

Besides that, any other information would be greatly appreciated when it comes to upgrading the lynx as i'm not very computer savvy and all help would be appreciated

Welcome to DS. Awesome
The main upgrade is to install a gpu since the Vega graphics are from the cpu and a dedicated gpu will be a major improvement.
Others with more knowledge will chime in on other major parts. Do note that the Lynx is a prebuilt and leaves little options for changes.
Enjoy the journey. Smile

The "Better" is the one you want, I think. "...cheap, but as powerful as I can get it.", is one with the 10700F. That processor is fully 30% stronger than the Ryzen 5 3400. It is only slightly gimped from a full-on 10700K. It merely lacks on-chip graphics, and overclock ability, which isn't needed anyway for that powerful a CPU. That CPU will last you far longer and be capable IMHO of power computing the 3400 can't come close to.

You will also get a capable and compact SSD for your Windows drive, which is a pretty ideal size for keeping the OS, maintenance software (like Malwarebytes, CCleaner, etc), browser and essential apps separate for easy scanning, and cloning if you wish. Most especially, it will avoid having to re-install a lot of other software if you ever have to wipe the drive and re-install Windows.

In either case, you will only have two RAM slots which will come with 2 4GB sticks. You will have to buy 2 8GB RAM sticks and replace it all, just FYI. The cheaper rig will serve your purpose, it just won't have the lifespan of the 10700F model.
