Ok, Since DST4ME is in my view the god of all things cloning, I need advice.
Ive puchased a 160GB Intel 320 SSD, and need to know if I should Install Win 7 Fresh, or clone. My current HDD only uses 85ish GB out of "500". I would also like to set up a raid 1 using the 500 as a backup (smallest drive I have). Only reason I am asking is because I would have to redownload 2 games that are 10GB+ each and don't want to take that much time to do so unless its needed. Side note - Upgrading also from a 4870x2 to a EVGA 580GTX 3GB. Any specific steps to take to avoid conflicts? Edited by Kaleliar - 04 Nov 2011 at 1:37am |

ok for raid you need 2 drives so you got two 500gb hdds?
Clone just make sure you are using proper software. uninstall ati drivers then install the 580 and its drivers. Edited by DST4ME - 04 Nov 2011 at 1:45am |

Got everything working dandy, I think.
Some things feel about the same, some programs still take a bit but most of them have no load time. I did notice that instead of 149GB (true size of 160GB) in the properties its showing 119GB and I have a new system reserved volume equaling 99.09MB I think Ill end up going ahead and doing a Clean Install and then leaving the old drive as a back up in-case, but thats if I have to.
