I just bought a DS Desktop 329297 with Intel Core I7 and INVIDIA GTX-550 video card (no video or CPU overclocking). The power supply is an 800W Corsair. The power consumption on the monitor I plan to use is 31w. I am planning to replace my Backup Power supply with an APC BX1500G VA 865 Watts; is this a sufficient UPS for my new system? |

Your ticket won't load how many years ago did you get your system?
that ups should be fine for your system, it has a lcd screen you can look at all kinds of stuff on it, set it to wattage and see what it pulls, you want to be under 865 of course. |

I just got my system per order 19245. I'm not a gamer, just wanted to edit HD movies.
Thanks. |

Oh yeah, you are going to be fine, no worries at all. My system only pulls over 800 watts when under insane stress (as in I have to purposely push the system to the max with something like FAH), and even then its just *barely*. And thats with SLI overclocked 580s, and an overclocked X58 CPU.My normal operating wattage is 333 watts (with monitor), thats browsing, email, movies, etc. You'd obviously be higher while editing an HD video, but I don't think you are going to have any issues at all, since your base watts would be far lower than mine anyways.

On a different note my 1500 xs apc ups's battery just got done after a year, but apparently this model is 3 years old already even tho I have owned it for only a year. I called they 2 days ago and told them about it, they CS told me they will process and ship a new battery to me, should be here next weak towards the end.
It arrived yesterday, I love apc ![]() Edited by DST4ME - 30 Dec 2011 at 3:30pm |
