So, I've never had a system before with a beefy power supply.  Any suggestions on what to avoid or look for in either a surge protector or UPS?  Right now, I do have an APC UPS at home, but I'm not sure what the specs are (I'm at work now).  Is there some rating or another on it that I need to check out to see if it will suffice?  The Digital Storm machine I have on order has a 750 watt power supply.  Thanks!

P.S.  The UPS also has my two monitors plugged in (24 inch and 20 inch widescreen), and some USB/Firewire drives.

Feel free to correct my novice info, but I've reading up on this since my post, and the couple of things I've picked up are that for a PC like you'd probably get from DS, you want something rated for 600-1000VA.  Also, the surge protection ideally should be 300+ joules, with 400-600 good, 600 really good, and 800 or up outstanding.

I've always liked APC's UPS's, but now that I'm reading up on them, many of them have just over 300 joules in protection.  Is there something I'm not understanding about this?

To keep answering myself, here is what I ended up ordering:

APC BACK-UPS 1200 120V

I wouldn't put too much stock in my above post about joules.  I've read in a few places that joules can be measured a few different ways, and claims of a high number are often exaggerated.
